I hear that. That commercial is completely bogus. The first time I saw that commercial was when it came on during the Superbowl. I was intrigued at first, but by the end of the commericial I was left scratching my head. I still see the commercial on from time to time, and thing to myself, "I wonder if Sobe just paid entirely too much money for this commercial and they have to keep playing it?". Either that or the people at Sobe are some weirdos (which definitely could be the case).

But yes, when you are doing some advertising, you can be different, but try and be relevant.

[...] It’s not hard to imagine why, either: there are so many navigation systems out there, each with their own eye candy, that when it comes time to design your site, it becomes hard to choose the correct system. And, like I said before, there are other pressures as well. [...]

Frankly, I'm surprised that Yahoo! and Microsoft couldn't come to an agreement regarding the buyout. I suppose with such HUGE amounts of money involved, and a complete take over, it's no surprise... But I'm sure that Yahoo! has enough advertising power to keep Microsoft's interest, and they'll be able to work out SOME kind of deal...
