Social networking just got easier. Each article posted on the Spinfield blog is submitted or mentioned on various social networking sites. It helps to get IdeaStar’s name out there, not to mention a proliferation of relevant links back into our Web sites. But updating networking sites individually is cumbersome.
Enter Minggl.
According to its Web site, “Minggl is a social interaction manager. Adding the Minggl toolbar makes it easy to manage information, communication, and navigation across social networks. Minggl works as a browser extension to Firefox and Internet Explorer.”
Minggl says it allows you to:
- “Consolidate friends from across social networking sites
- Auto-log into and easily navigate across your social networks
- Update status on multiple social networks from one place
- Send the same message across sites such as Facebook and MySpace
- Get updates and friend activity from your networks no matter where you are on the Web
- Post photos and videos to your social profiles with privacy filters so that only selected friends can view”
Minngl, which is still in beta, currently works with Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, MySpace, Digg, and Flickr. YouTube, Bebo, Orkut, LiveJournal, Yelp, Flixster are expected to be added soon.
Sounds like a time-saver to me. I’ll give it a try for a few months and see how it goes. You can follow Minggl as it develops on Facebook, Twitter, and its blog.
What are your experiences using Minggle? Or, what other service(s) do you use to update your status on multiple social networking sites? Let me know.

I use Minggl and Love it. It helps me remain connected with all of my friends and colleagues across tow of my busiest social and professional networks (Facebook and LinkedIn). I highly recommend this toolbar for anyone who is tired of logging in and out of each website in order to get updates or send messages to groups of friends. Cheerio

Minggl is definitely a useful tool.In general, though, I’m cautious about automated posting on different social networks – misses out on the participatory aspects that could have made the post more relevant.

I use Ping. Located at http://ping.fm, it allows you to update your status across almost every social outlet available line MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc. You can even use AIM, GTalk, Yahoo IM or other instant messenger platforms to send IMs to ping in order to update your status. You can even update your status through Ping from your mobile phone. This gives you one outlet to update all your profiles ever where, which saves you time.
