Spinfield: Web marketing trends today, tomorrow, and beyond…

Online marketing blog produced by IdeaStar, Inc.

If you are like me, you have more then one social network account. A facebook page, a myspace page, a twitter account, a plurk account, linkedin, plaxo, delicious and so on. On occasion, when I am in a sharing mood, I like to update all of my social network buddies with my news. What I don’t like is logging into every single account separately. Luckily I found a beta site that allows me to update all of my social network accounts from one place, Ping.fm.

Ping.fm allows you to ping your social network statuses, update your micro-blogs, update your social bookmarking sites, and even post a blog to your social networks from one place. You can make changes to all of your accounts at once, or, if you are feeling particular, Ping.fm has a trigger system that allows you to target specific sites to ping. You can even create your own custom triggers.

Ping.fm has several services and tools available as well, including:

  • Posting to ping.fm through your instant messenger service
  • Ability to post by e-mail
  • A Facebook Application
  • An iGoogle Gadget
  • Mobile version of the site and an iPhone Web app for iPhone and iPod Touch users
  • Developer API keys to create your own applications.

The newest feature added is the ability to update your ping.fm using SpinVox. By using SpinVox you can call a number provided and leave a message that converts to text, and then ping.fm sends that along to your networks.

You can check the ping.fm blog for more updates on the site and see what else is new.  So far using the site has worked well for me, but check it out for yourself and let me know what you think!
