Giant Spider Arrives in Liverpool
La Princess, built to be the highlight for the 2008 Capital of Culture celebrations, is a giant mechanical spider created by La Machine and Artichoke. Artichoke, along with French theatrical magicians Royal de Luxe, created the biggest piece of live theater ever in London, The Sultan’s Elephant, in May 2006.
La Princess was first revealed on the side of an office building on Liverpool’s Lime Street, but is now said to be on the move. The 50 ft. spider is said to be “waking up” on Friday to explore the city.
A Spider For Your Desktop
If you like your spiders still inanimate but slightly smaller, try this spider out for fun! He follows your mouse, and you can get him to eat bugs you put on the screen. You can also adjust his size, speed and thickness. Enjoy!
