- Yahoo! has again rejected an offer from Microsoft. Microsoft made an offer on Friday, along with Carl Icahn, to purchase the Yahoo search business and replace CEO Jerry Yang and the current board with Carl Icahn and a board he selects.
- YouTube has added a geographic search feature, which will allow you to find videos based on location.
- After receiving hundreds of submissions, Yahoo! has announced 5 winners of the SearchMonkey Developer Challenge. The Grand Prize winner is Marco Vitanza for his Blogspot infobar.
- Ask.com announced a multi-year agreement with Photobucket. In addition to having the Ask.com search box displayed on Photobucket.com, Ask.com will also be providing sponsored advertising and additional display ads to Photobucket.
- Google Maps is starting to test walking directions, for limited locations and a small number of users. They currently provide transit directions for certain areas, including Cleveland, OH.
