One of the easiest, quickest and most cost-effective ways to get the word out about your company or product is through e-mail marketing .
Here are some advantages of e-mail marketing:
- Low costs - Unless you are paying for designers and writers, your costs are minimal.
- Quick - People receive their e-mail within a few moments of it being sent.
- Easy to track - Send out e-mail with a receipt attached so you know who is opening and reading the e-mail you send. Or. use an e-mail system like IdeaStar’s Pulsar 2.0, with an analytics program attached for real-time statistics.
- Contacts - Create an address book filled with individuals who have indicated they would like to receive information from you or your company. Include current clients to share a new idea or product with them. Be sure your list is CAM-SPAM compliant, and it is easy for individuals to opt out of future e-mails.
- Forwards - If someone is very interested in your product or company, they may forward the information to someone else, which benefits you.
- Green - E-mailing helps to reduce the use of paper and other products used to make brochures, pamphlets, postage etc.
Being able to present the information about your company to possible clients is a definite advantage. If people have to go looking for information or a product, there is a risk they will never come across your name or company. If you present the information to them, and put it somewhere they are very likely to look, their e-mail, it will be hard for you to go unnoticed.
Jeff Casmer explains the advantages and disadvantages of e-mail marketing in his article, “How to use Effective Email Marketing to Your Advantage?” He concludes his article with the following statement:
The content of the emails should also be carefully considered. They should certainly highlight the products and services you offer but should do so without appearing to be a hard sales pitch. A writer with experience in writing this type of copy should be able to assist you in providing insightful and accurate copy which also entices the reader to find out more about your products and services. Finally your emails should provide the readers with a call to action. This should be a statement urging the reader to take a specific action such as making a purchase or researching a product.
There are important steps to take in order to make your e-mail marketing successful. So do a little research, or contact IdeaStar for more information.
