The search world was busy last week. Here are some highlights.
- New Google CIO. CNETNews.com reported that Benjamin Fried of Morgan Stanley has been named Google’s Chief Information Officer.
- Improving Search Results. Yahoo is offering a preview of its new Search Monkey developers’ platform designed to “enhance the functionality, appearance and usefulness of search results.” Learn more at the Yahoo! Search blog.
- New Click Filter Program for Yahoo!. Yahoo! announced a new click filter report, which lets pay-per-click subscribers know which click the search company considers bogus - and will not charge for. Use it to find out how many clicks Yahoo! is throwing out.
- More Than One Me? Do you have a Google ganger - or twin - out there? Simply search your name in Google and see. Jim Killeen did just that, and came up with six other men with the same name. He took things a few steps further, and went to meet each one. Meet the Jim Killeens at Google Me the Movie.
- Private Investigator Sues Google Over Ads. The Independent reported the company owner signed up for ads on Google, and was disappointed to find the ads scattered throughout social media sites. The owner and his attorneys believe thousands of other companies could be affected, and are planning a class action suit.
